What sets us apart from others: Our volunteers receive a stipend and mileage reimbursement and other benefits. For Senior Companions, the hourly stipend is tax free and is not counted in determining eligibility for other services such as disability, housing, etc. The monthly stipend for Neighbor To Neighbor Companions is a taxable stipend. Volunteers are matched with older adults in their community to provide companionship, and volunteer as little as 2 hours a week or 10 or more hours per week.
