A Little about Lutheran Social Services

Mission: Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota expresses the love of Christ for all people through service that inspires hope, changes lives, and builds community.

Services provided by LSS: Many services including disaster recovery, for families, financial & employment, housing assistance, mental health, military & veterans, people with disabilities, refugee resettlement services, youth& young adults, youth homelessness, and Older Adult Services. Senior Companion and Neighbor To Neighbor Companion Programs in the St. Cloud area.

What sets us apart from others: Our volunteers receive a stipend and mileage reimbursement and other benefits. For Senior Companions, the hourly stipend is tax free and is not counted in determining eligibility for other services such as disability, housing, etc. The monthly stipend for Neighbor To Neighbor Companions is a taxable stipend. Volunteers are matched with older adults in their community to provide companionship, and volunteer as little as 2 hours a week or 10 or more hours per week.
