Volunteer Spotlight: Dixie M

Posted on: 3/9/2015 by Editor

As the Volunteer Coordinator at Country Manor Campus I have had the good fortune to work among many talented and dedicated volunteers.  Among those volunteers is an individual whose service is extraordinary.  Dixie Morse exemplifies the true sense of volunteerism, as she is selfless, kind, and generous.  Furthermore, she is enthusiastic, versatile, dependable and is always working to fulfill our mission of enriching the lives of the residents that we serve.

The residents at Country Manor Campus appreciate her and our staff relies on her for many areas of expertise.  Anne Frank stated, “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”  I appreciate this opportunity to share how Dixie improves our world… a world that, at times, includes individuals experiencing their final days.

Dixie participates in several volunteer areas which include visiting our residents, assisting for special events, delivering mail to our residents, keeping our care center looking pristine and comfortable and much more.  Dixie stops at no length to be of service to our facility.  Dixie also is one of our few “Angel Arms Volunteers” that support a resident as they are approaching their final hours.  Whether Dixie is there to hold their hand, pray with their family, or be a listening ear, she never hesitates to be by their bedside no matter what time of day.

Dixie moves with an unconditional devotion to those she serves and she has a zest for life!  Dixie never fails to shares her spirit, energy and positivity with our residents.  In a nutshell, Dixie makes life better for all of us at Country Manor.
