Friendship Ventures is a privately funded, nonprofit organization that creates educational, recreational, and social opportunities for children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. The agency is based in Annandale, Minnesota.

Friendship Ventures' clients are children and adults with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Many also have physical disabilities or medical conditions such as epilepsy or diabetes. Our programs and services enhance quality of life for people with disabilities, their families and care providers - and send a ripple of benefits into their communities.

Friendship Ventures serves more than 3,000 people each year through its camping, respite and travel programs. The agency operates Camp Friendship near Annandale, Minnesota, Camp New Hope near McGregor, Minnesota, and Eden Wood Center in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

More than 1,200 volunteers donate over 75,000 hours to Friendship Ventures each year. That's roughly equal to the work of an extra 35 full-time employees. Most volunteers serve as camp counselors or helpers to counselors. But, we always have volunteer projects that individuals or church, youth or service organizations can do.

Friendship Ventures also has a Youth Leadership Program: The Youth Leadership Program’s goal is to give youth (ages 14+) the opportunity to grow, learn leadership skills, meet others from around the country and world, and gain confidence all while volunteering their time and energy at a camp setting.

Youth can volunteer all year long! We have camp sessions that run nearly every weekend
